St. George’s C of E Primary School, Stockport
Blue Sky Design Services, Equity Solutions’ full architectural, environmental, engineering and healthcare consultancy, is working on a £6.5m contract with the Chester Diocese.
Blue Sky proposals for this site are to provide a new 2FE, 420 place primary school on the single site of the existing vicarage within the St George’s Conservation Area boundary.
Planning and listed building consent is to be applied for, for change of use of the existing Grade 2 Listed school buildings, and demolition of the existing disused and dilapidated vicarage.
The solution for the new school seeks to maximise the heavily treed and tight urban site with a four storey vertical solution, utilising rooftop playdecks, all contained around a careful and considered plan form embracing the views across to the west window of the Grade 1 listed Church of St George’s.
