Speke Forward Learning Centre PFI (Parklands High School)

Speke Forward Learning Centre, known as Parklands High School, is an integrated school and community building in Liverpool, providing social services, leisure and education facilities on one site.
This PFI project was delivered by a special purpose company, Education Solutions, a wholly owned investment subsidiary of Equity Solutions & Partners Limited. The supply chain was brought together by Equity Solutions to successfully secure the 25 year PFI contract.
This £22m project involved the provision of an education and community learning centre including:
• A new 900 place secondary school
• A City Learning Centre with cyber cafe
• A Liverpool City Council ‘One Stop Shop’
• Library
• Neighbourhood, adult and community centres
• An adventure playground
• Leisure centre
• Childcare facilities
• Offices for South Liverpool Housing
Financial close was reached on time with Liverpool City and full service commencement began on target.
Equity Solutions’ property management subsidiary provides the ongoing property management support for the facility and oversees the subcontracted facilities management services.
This project has been a success; satisfying the community’s needs in a deprived area of Liverpool with an innovative design solution whilst maintaining affordability.
