Blue Sky Design Services, Equity Solutions’ full architectural, environmental, engineering and healthcare consultancy, provided architectural services to the Beth Johnson Housing Association on a £1.7m contract.
This is a development of ten elderly persons’ bungalows, three houses for rent and four houses for shared ownership in a rural community on a site adjacent to a conservation area.
The development required extensive local consultation to be carried out with residents, the adjacent primary school and the parish council.
The highly insulated timber frame homes are designed to passive solar principles and the bungalows incorporate sun spaces to preheat ventilation air. The site also incorporated a sustainable urban drainage system.
