Community 1st Oldham and Community 1st Cornwall, two of the LIFT companies in which Equity Solutions is the private sector partner, have had three of their LIFT developments shortlisted for the 2011 National Partnerships Bulletin Awards. These awards reward the joint efforts of public and private sector partners to improve community services.
Best Healthcare Project
Royton Health and Wellbeing Centre, a Community 1st Oldham LIFT development, has been shortlisted in the Best Healthcare project category in recognition of its high quality design, effective functionality and flexibility of the building, innovative approach and contribution to environmental sustainability.
Best Community/User Involvement Project
Truro Health Park, a Community 1st Cornwall LIFT project, has been shortlisted for Best Community/User Involvement Project award, which aims to recognise outstanding commitments to involving the local community in project development.
Community/user involvement in the project was critical for such a significant development as Truro Health Park. NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly and Community 1st Cornwall in partnership delivered an ongoing community/user engagement programme supported by Arts for Health Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.
The programme was linked to an ‘Arts for Health’ project to involve the community in the design and development of the building. The project aimed to assist in the creation of an innovative and high-quality environment, to integrate the historical and aspirational elements of health services in Truro and to create an environment that demonstrates how creativity and the arts contribute to improving health and wellbeing.
Best Designed Project
Two Community 1st Cornwall developments, Truro Health Park and Praze-an-Beeble Health Centre, have been shortlisted for the Best Designed Project Award. Both facilities were designed by bluesky architects, which is part of the Equity Solutions Group.
